You would NOT believe what is happening over at umm… Facebook!!!! Ok, I have several (I’m talking like 20) different Christian groups – such as Bible Journaling Community, His Kingdom Come, Documented Faith and many many others. It is one of the main reasons i even get onto facebook!! So your thinking cool shes a Christian and proud of it cool– HOLD UP … guess what? I was casually scrolling thru the posts as always when BAM!!! I saw a , well, outrageous post!! Know what it said? It said :: “Facebook is banning “amen posts” !!! Now in case you do not yet know an amen post is when someone puts up a post that says something kinda like God has been really good to me today type amen if you agree. Now at this point I usually choose whether or not to type “amen”. Usually I do unless I’m tired or did not see it etc.
I am honestly insulted, appauled, and shocked that the “people” over at facebook.com would even begin to consider taking GOD or “amen” out of their site!!!! Sorry if you think I am overreacting but really??? Do they think maybe our Real GOD JESUS is getting too much attention? Do they want to ban actual Christian groups I’m a dedicated subscriber to next?? I mean to me honestly I think it is invading our freedom of religion, our freedom of speech, heck freedom in general!!! Now do keep in mind I have only seen One single post about this so its not like they are viciously getting rid of all amens … YET?
All I know is I am really thinking about starting my own group about the whole idea of banning the word amen to positive quotes, scripture, and sayings on Facebook.com. Who is with me? As I type I am planning on paper (yeah now you know it’s serious) lol about leaving multiple messages on all of my Christian groups about this!!! IF BIG IF because if you have not noticed I have at the moment like 0 zero followers (so sad) on my blog — well if you are a smart, daring, brave, and loyal to Jesus kinda gal or guy please do me, yourself, and GOD a BIG favor and subscribe here and to my brand spanking new facebook group.
You at this point have a choice:
- Stop reading and do nothing
- Stop reading and very wisely dash over to facebook to give them a piece of your mind.
- Stop reading and subscribe to my group (thank you so much friend) really awesome !
Either way, I pray in Jesus name –the only name that heals, saves, blesses, and guides all of us to be with you whatever your decision is may you be truly lead by the precious Holy Spirit. GOD BLESS AMERICA –( and yeah that includes you too facebook.com)
Alright —I’m back yes I have returened to share with you my path to organizaton of the eluding layouts !!
Now —before I begin let me warn you that I am far (i mean way far) away from knowing everything about layout or for that matter any organization. I am only sharing with you guys what is and is not working for me at the moment.
Heres the deal—See I am well, not rich therefore I have many (I am talking like 300 plus ) many layouts out of books because I simply cannot afford to put every layout I create in a book!! Yeah it sucks but honestly I could for example with any extra money I ever get I always or almost always spend it on scrapbooking supplies rather than more books because to me I would rather create than to store— making sense yet ?
So— here is my two cents . I own a wooden card catalog box (had it for years barley being touched) I used to keep all out phone numbers in it. Then it hit me “hey I could re-purpose it “! Approximatley two months ago I took everything out of it and decided to organize my layouts in it !! I took all the little white cards and began the arduous task of numbering all my layouts!! I finally finished and for each page or layout I color coded it too such as for my Son he was a blue mark on the back of the layout – my Daughter a pink mark on the backs. So each layout got a number and a color coding mark Oh, and family layouts that had multiple people in them got a green mark. Ya got me ?? Sounds pretty simple HUH?? WRONG !!!After cataloging oh I guess 300 layouts it got confusing so at this point I’m left wondering —what now ?? This is where you yes YOU come in. IF you have any and I mean any at all suggestions regarding my way of organizing layouts PLEASE leave me a comment with any and all tips you may have!! TIA!!
Yes ahh your still here — well that was it what ? Did you expect some amazing new tip or strategy for organizng your layouts —nope not here yet come back some other day please!
Welcome back and thank you for reading ! Assuming you got this far – HOORAY!!! Ok — I have two planners at the moment. One is my Filofax in Rasberry Saffiano an A5 and the other planner is my Happy Planner from Michaels Craft Store – (the large one).
Ideally I wanted to use each planner for a different use, but I was unable to add my own pages (I had no levenger punch) so yeah guess that leaves me with two planners both for the same identical use. (oh boy can you say crash and burn) Now … the reason I say “crash and burn” is because (to give you a little back story) I am in the midst of starting up a “NEW” routine. OMG as if it is even new to me at this point. I have been intending to begin and KEEP a new routine for years now (yeah I know) ridiculous !!!! Ok so here is my key for my color coding :
Yellow– Bible Study
At least this (above) is how I am starting out so far.
IF BIG IF -anyone has a better suggestion on how to manage 2 planners or similar please leave a comment !TIA!!!
First of all let me say I love all of Heidi Swapp’s products– except I do have a slight issue with one particular product.she has recently created. Her glammed up really eye catching memory planner is quite frankly simply another planner. When I heard of the brillant idea of a planner to plan memories ( as the title says) I was thrilled! Finally a place to record layouts, cards, art journlaing, mixed media and faith art! For example when I hear the title of her product “Heidi Swapp Memory Planner” I immedialty think of project pages, calendar pages, supply lists, and the like. Now hold up dont get me wrong — I actually am a fan of her “memory” planner its so pretty and gold!
So– I would just really like it if the swapp would make a product as the product name says it is does that make sense? So whats next to say I know how about how I have been scrapbooking for over 16 years and would die at the sheer idea of being involved in making or creating a real deal memory planner. A little back history for a moment – I use a moleskine black art journal to keep all my ideas in and it is full I mean brimming with ideas of layouts, cards, projects and such. Arent we as scrappers ready for a legitimate memory planner I dont know about you but I am.
Now here comes the corny part– if anyone reading this has the desire to partner with me in creating a real deal memory planner please leave a comment and i will happlily respond.
Thanks for reading – and btw if any of you are looking for a typical nice planner go with heidi swapp she makes great stuff again this is just my opinion and I am in no way in contact with heidi swapp. god bless.
- Large or Jumbo Paper Clips
- Stickers (larger ones)
- Washi Tape
- Die Cuts of butterflies or framelits smaller ones
- hot glue gun
- Hot glue sticks
First get that glue gun heating up ! When using the stickers take two of similar kinds and sandwich them and hot glue inside.
When your ready to move on to the washi tape start with the not clipping end and slide your tape from the in and out to form a little flag if desired cut a little triangle to form a banner looking end.
For the framelits proceed as if they were stickers and again sandwich them together do the very same with the butterflies -(oh and for extra color I like to die cut white butterfiles or punch then spray mist with ink like dylusions inks ) the rest is up to you!!!
Thanks for reading and god bless.

These are just the ones I really enjoyed! GO CHECK OUT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARY FOR MORE INSPIRATION ABOUT SCRAPBOOKING ETC.
I began scrapbooking in 2000 that is basically 16 years wow feels like 10 or less! I at this time own 11 albums (just bought 6 on sale) As a seasoned scrapbooker until say a week ago I owned 5 scrapbooks which for the time ive been at it not much. Keep in mind I am only counting the 12×12 not my mini albums.
For years I just kept loose leaf layouts and stored them in a large cheapy plastic bin with a lid. Well, 300 lay outs later I needed albums and I bought 6 but sitll need more I think.
Here is the beef–
Find a box or bin or tray and designate it for little diy white cards for keeping track of all layouts done. I am using a wooden box with a drawer meant for addresses and phone numbers. Depending on if you have children which I have two move along marking starting with the oldest layout without a home #1 then mark subjects and a year on back of the page itself and on a single white card and file away in your box etc. GO along listing also color code each page for example ok I see the page of my kids and me ice skating goes to my Son , Cody so I mark the year subjects # 1 etc and blue marker line to show at age 18 that layout will go in his book for him to keep. Am I making sense yet?
ONe more example my Daughter, Kaili I grab her and her friends sleep over mark the year, subjects,, # 2 or whatever and a pink marker because it will go one day (at 18) in her girls book. GET IT ?
I have over 300 loose layouts and it took me off and on working on this approx. 2-3 weeks! Now to put them in books – more progress coming ! Thanks for reading and again please comment! Jesus loves YOU Yes YOU.
These days there is just so much to choose from – I mean today I was in Michael’s and I saw beautiful things all over the place -(sometimes I have to say no you cannot buy it all, but i think when we think it over we have all had the tendancey to want to inhale the new products)
I will be the first to tell you I am new to the whole make your own embellishments game. Done it a couple times. To me there are (to the best of my knowledge) only 3 products that allow you to make your own embellishments. Listed below are my favorite in no particular order:
- The Ranger Melting Pot
- The Heidi Swapp Minc
- The Xyron Sticker Maker
Now– I am sure there are many others but these are the ones I either have owned or thought would work nicley.
The only draw back to purchasing these tools is well they take more than you are aware. For example The Ranger Melting Pot must have UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel), and maybe a mold. The Minc uses foil you must buy for it, while the Xyron requires tape rolls . IT takes something to make something machines. I would be very very interested in actually seeing a machine if possible that refills itself or does not require extra cost on a regular basis. Wouldn’t that be nice ? Im sure your wallet will thank you.
Below is a list of necessary things you will need for each of these wonderful machines.
THE RANGER MELTING POT
- the pot
- a spatula
- molds (optinal)
THE HEIDI SWAPP MINC
- the minc machine (costs 100 and up dollars but hey have a mini for less)
- foil in your choice of colors
THE XYRON STICKER MAKER
(please do be advised I own the melting pot by Ranger and have used and owned the Xyron but never tried the minc) thank you.please comment to reach me opr at firstname.lastname@example.org
There is always the use of punches which are relativley cheap ! You can make tissue paper flowers with brads as centers or hand cut arrows for boys pages, butterflies, etc. get crafting !
It was finally here ….CHRISTMAS!! I was on my own for the first time ever ever ever! So, in turn it must be great! My dear kids will be there, my Mother and Stepfather, and bff Jeff.
It hit me I can decorate my little apartment -(sure my roommate who will remain nameless was not celebrating the Holiday – wierd)! I grabbed a notebook and quickly jotted ideas down as quickly as they came to me! I bought (jeff drove) a large canvas pad of paper at Hobby Lobby and thought I will make a glitter “Believe” sign, I hit up the dollar $tore (jeff drove) and picked up ribbon, treat bags etc. I took ordinary glass jars and wrapped them in blue and red patterned paper and card stock and put snowflakes in the middle. Less is more I told myself. Then I made a banner from some spring stuff I had saved months prior. SPelled noel in the banner.
My whole point in sharing the story is to let you know:
a. yes everyone loved the tree and decorations all done dirt cheap
b. You do NOT have to spend a ton on diy decor just to get a refined simple look
SO- make a list first things first what are your plans (do keep in mind this can and has by me been done for any time of year just did a repeat only in spring colors)
- make a list of all projects and staple or paper clip together
- go (if needed) to a cheapy dollar tree or the like
- lay out old newspaper or rags over area
- choose your colors (do not skip this step) my spring ones were pink and gray
- Repurpos old containers – jars, boxes, lids, oh and yes even toilet paper tubes -(i made a really cute toilet paper tube glued to a dish and painted so cheap but elegant
- lay out all supplies new and old
- go for it
I know you hear everywhere do it cheap but i am always on a budget and this decor looked adorable for real and still affordable ! I even had just hung up an old wooden curio or wood shelf thing and had little things inside each mini cubby plain and very very boring well for spring I chose to fill each (9) cubbies with little missmatched glass jars (spagetti ones or any) and painted some pinnk and gray others just gray cardstock with torn edges and a pink ribbon in the center …. remember less really is more!
Lastly, let me give out a special thank you to jesus he is the reason for all my ideas and inspiration ! In all things GOD WORKS.
go on get to it .
Take time to create drawing from your life experiences. Realize and accept your not perfect (I do not mean quit trying or never get better) . See the path your on as a unique journey because that is what it is ( to me at least).
I recently checked out some books from my library and was blessed by two that were about a scrapbooker’s spiritual life. Like The Scrapbooker’s Journey was one. The book lists a new project for the reader to do every chapter of the book. Kinda inspired me!
Well, Im waiting … go ahead grab your supplies (all of them) and get busy! Open up that BIble and look for verses that matter most to you and use it as a spring board to create a one of a kind masterpiece! You know you want to.
Thank you for reading and when you have done please share the work or a comment about your awesome work of heart.
